Terms of Service

Effective Date: 22 April 2026

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the British City forums, community website, related support systems, staff systems, and associated services available through forums.britishcity.net and linked British City platforms. By accessing or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, you must not use the service.

1. About the Service

The British City forums are an online community platform connected to the British City Minecraft server and related community features. The service may include public discussion areas, staff-managed areas, support tickets, reports, applications, feedback sections, moderation systems, account linking tools, and related services.

We may add, remove, suspend, or change any part of the service at any time.

2. Eligibility and Access

You must use the service lawfully and responsibly. By using the service, you confirm that:

the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
you will not impersonate another person, staff member, business, or community member;
you will not attempt to evade enforcement, linking restrictions, or account limitations;
you will comply with these Terms of Service, the forum rules, and any additional posted policies.
We may refuse access to the service, suspend features, or terminate accounts at our discretion where necessary to protect the community or enforce these Terms.

3. Forum Accounts

To use certain features, you may need to register a forum account. You are responsible for all activity carried out through your account.

You must keep your login credentials secure. You must not share, sell, transfer, lend, or otherwise allow another person to use your account without permission.

We may allow temporary or unlinked accounts with restricted functionality. We may also require account linking to a Minecraft identity before access to some posting or community features is granted.

4. Minecraft Account Linking

The forum platform is intended to integrate with the British City Minecraft server. Some areas, actions, permissions, or ranks may depend on whether your forum account is linked to a verified Minecraft account.

You must not:

attempt to link an account you do not control;
use misleading, fraudulent, or unauthorized link codes;
attempt to link multiple forum accounts in a way that bypasses restrictions;
interfere with the verification system.
We may suspend, remove, or block account links at any time where misuse, fraud, confusion, or abuse is suspected.

5. Authentication Requirements

We may require password login, Google authentication, or both for some or all users, including elevated verification for sensitive or staff-related actions. You agree to comply with the authentication methods required by the service.

We are not responsible for your inability to access the service because of issues with third-party authentication providers, forgotten passwords, compromised devices, or failure to complete required verification steps.

6. Usernames, Profiles, and Identity

Your visible forum identity may be based on your linked Minecraft account. If your account is unlinked, your username may be assigned automatically under a temporary or restricted naming format until verification is completed.

You may not use a username, profile, avatar, biography, signature, or other identity element that:

impersonates staff or another person;
is misleading, abusive, hateful, obscene, or unlawful;
is intended to harass, intimidate, or deceive;
infringes another person's rights.
We reserve the right to edit, rename, restrict, or remove profile elements at our discretion.

7. Content You Submit

You retain responsibility for the content you post, upload, submit, or otherwise make available through the service, including threads, replies, feedback, applications, support tickets, reports, signatures, attachments, and profile content.

By submitting content, you grant British City a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, modify for formatting or moderation purposes, display, distribute, archive, and otherwise use that content for the operation, administration, and promotion of the service.

You confirm that you have the necessary rights to submit any content you post.

8. Acceptable Use

You must not use the service to:

post unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, hateful, sexual, obscene, or excessively graphic content;
dox, expose, or share another person's private information without permission;
spam, scam, phish, advertise without permission, or manipulate engagement;
distribute malware, harmful code, or malicious links;
exploit bugs, security weaknesses, or design flaws in the site or server systems;
interfere with the service, its hosting, or connected systems;
circumvent punishments, restrictions, blacklists, mutes, bans, account limitations, or permission systems;
post false reports, false applications, bad-faith support requests, or deliberately misleading information;
use automation, scraping, or bots in a way we have not authorized;
engage in conduct that damages the integrity, safety, or reputation of the British City community.
9. Section-Specific Rules

Some areas of the forum may have specific restrictions or workflows. For example:

reports may be limited to staff and relevant participants;
support tickets may be private and visible only to the user and authorized staff;
applications may use structured forms and staff review processes;
feedback may use voting, reaction systems, or status review workflows;
announcement sections may be restricted to administrative posting only.
You must comply with any additional rules shown in a section, form, or staff instruction.

10. Staff, Moderation, and Enforcement

British City may moderate content and user activity to maintain community standards, enforce rules, and protect the service.

We may take actions including:

editing, moving, locking, hiding, or deleting posts or content;
issuing warnings;
limiting reactions or replies;
muting, suspending, or banning accounts;
blacklisting users from creating or linking accounts;
restricting access to sections, features, or services;
retaining records of moderation activity, punishments, appeals, and enforcement history.
Moderation decisions may be made by moderators, senior staff, administrators, owners, or automated systems acting under configured rules.

11. Reports, Support Cases, and Applications

Reports, support tickets, and applications must be submitted honestly and respectfully. You must not abuse these systems or use them to harass staff or other users.

We may deny, close, merge, lock, or archive any report, support case, or application at our discretion. A decision marked as final may not be reopened except where British City staff choose to review it again.

We may retain the full history of reports, applications, and support cases for moderation, compliance, and operational purposes.

12. Feedback, Reactions, and Voting

The service may offer feedback sections, reactions, and voting systems. These are intended to help the community express preferences and evaluate suggestions. They do not create any obligation on British City to implement, acknowledge, or prioritize a suggestion.

We may remove votes, reactions, or feedback content where abuse, brigading, manipulation, or bad-faith use is suspected.

13. Intellectual Property

All rights in the British City branding, website design, forum structure, custom content, graphics, code, and service presentation remain the property of British City or its licensors, except where content is owned by users or third parties.

You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit any part of the service except as permitted by law or with our prior written permission.

14. Third-Party Services

The service may integrate with or link to third-party services including Google, Discord, Minecraft-related APIs, Tebex, hosting providers, analytics tools, advertising services, and other external platforms. Your use of such services is subject to their own terms and policies.

British City is not responsible for the availability, content, policies, or conduct of third-party services.

15. Availability and Changes

We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We may suspend, withdraw, update, restrict, or discontinue the service or any feature at any time without liability.

We are not responsible for outages, data loss, delays, or interruptions caused by maintenance, hosting failures, attacks, technical issues, force majeure, or third-party platform problems.

16. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without notice, where we believe that:

you have breached these Terms of Service;
you have breached the rules or related policies;
you pose a security, safety, or abuse risk;
your account has been compromised;
we are required to do so for legal or operational reasons.
You may stop using the service at any time. Account deletion requests may be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and operational obligations. Termination of an account does not require us to delete enforcement records, abuse history, or other records we are entitled to retain.

17. No Guarantee of Rank, Access, or Status

Forum ranks, donor tags, staff roles, permissions, application outcomes, support outcomes, and linked-community privileges are granted at our discretion unless expressly stated otherwise. They may be changed, removed, or reconfigured at any time.

Nothing in these Terms of Service guarantees acceptance of an application, restoration of a punishment, access to a restricted area, or retention of a role or rank.

18. Disclaimer

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, British City disclaims all warranties, representations, and guarantees, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, security, and accuracy.

We do not guarantee that content posted by users is accurate, complete, reliable, or appropriate.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, British City and its operators, staff, administrators, moderators, volunteers, affiliates, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss or damage, including loss of data, loss of access, reputational harm, lost profits, or service interruption arising from or related to your use of the service.

If liability cannot be excluded entirely, it will be limited to the minimum amount permitted by law.

20. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless British City and its operators, staff, administrators, moderators, affiliates, and service providers from and against claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses arising out of:

your use of the service;
your content;
your breach of these Terms of Service;
your breach of any law or the rights of another person;
your misuse of moderation, support, feedback, or reporting systems.
21. Privacy

Your use of the service is also governed by the British City Privacy Policy. Where there is a conflict between these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy on a privacy-specific matter, the Privacy Policy will govern that matter.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may amend these Terms of Service from time to time. Updated terms will apply from the effective date shown on the updated version unless otherwise stated. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

23. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, unless another mandatory law applies in your jurisdiction and cannot lawfully be excluded.

24. Contact

If you need help regarding these Terms of Service, you should use the official support systems or contact methods made available by British City through the forums or website.
